DigitalGlobe, the company that provides the satellite imagery for Google Earth, is launching its newest satellite on Tuesday.

The launch of the new bird, dubbed WorldView 1, will be broadcast live on Boeing’s Web site tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1:35 pm Dallas time.

WorldView I will operate in tandem with DigitalGlobe’s existing Quickbird satellite, and together the two platforms will be able photograph 600,000 square kilometers a day, which currently takes a week to collect.

WorldView II is scheduled for launch in late 2008.
