AT&T drops word that TBS HD is now available on its U-Verse television service, and CNN HD will be available later this year (Full release after the jump).

The TBS thing is a big deal right now because the baseball playoffs are currently being carried on TBS, and cable providers Comcast and Time Warner, as well as satellite companies DirecTV and Dish, have all started offering the high-def channel in recent weeks.

As a Verizon Fios subscriber, though, these announcements are worthless to me.

Seriously, Verizon, what’s the deal? Where are TBS HD and CNN HD?

And it’s funny that I mention Verizon (how’s that for a segue?), because I’ll be interviewing Verizon’s chief technology officer in Dallas tomorrow (Wednesday) to talk about the future of Fios.

I’ll make sure to grill him on this critical issue.
