After discount brand Vizio briefly took the lead in North America in the second quarter, market research firm DisplaySearch reports that old stalwart Samsung is back at the top of the list with the highest market share of flat panel TV sales in the third quarter.
But look at the year-over-year sales growth of Vizio in the chart below.
From my experience with Vizio, the company makes a quality television, and there are clearly a lot of people who want to get into the HDTV fun, but aren’t thrilled at spending several thousand dollars to do so.
