Microsoft launches all-in-one malware protection

Microsoft, which began beta testing an improved OneCare security suite this summer, has just released the second major version of the software, which offers protection against a number of techno-hazards.

OneCare will compete against security suites from specialty companies such as Symantec and McAfee, both of which offer services designed to guard against everything from viruses to lost computers.

The service costs $50 a year for up to three computers, but Microsoft is offering a 90-day free trial here.
