Vudu is a box that sits on top of your TV and gives you nearly instant access to movies and, now, episodes from 12 TV shows. The $399 device went on sale in September and won mostly positive reviews like this one from Cnet.

Vudu has a wide array of movies that rent for $1 to $4 and sell for $5 to $20. New movies generally hit the service the same day they hit the video store. TV show episodes cost $2 each and come from the following series: 24, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Family Guy, Firefly, Lost in Space, My Name is Earl, NYPD Blue, Prison Break, The Riches, Shark, and The Shield.

All the TV shows are currently available in standard definition only, but Vudu has begun offering some HD movies and says that more HD will follow, both for movies and television shows.
