Yeah, this bed of the future looks cool and all.

But while the iPod dock, 1080p movie projector, 1.5 terabyte disc drive, 4 gigs of RAM, wireless Internet access, anti-snore technology (the mattress automatically rises and drops if you start snoring) and high-tech coils sound neat, I just can’t take this bed seriously if its doesn’t include a built-in refrigerator. You mean I still have to get up to fetch my own drinks?

On the other hand, the bed’s temperature can be lowered all the way down to 68 degree Fahrenheit or cranked up to a (literally) toasty 117.

So you can’t store your food in the Starry Night bed, but you might be able to cook it between the sheets.

All yours for a mere $20,000 to $50,000 (depending on the options), when this monstrosity is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2009. The Starry Night will also be on display at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week.
