Observant readers probably realize that CES ended Thursday, but there’s plenty of extra news to report from the show.

SanDisk, which makes both flash memory and portable music players, introduced one player with 32 GB of flash storage for $349.

Why would anyone pay that much for SanDisk player when an iPod classic with an 80 GB hard-drive costs $100 less? Because flash memory works faster, consumes far less power and lets you jog without skipping.

Besides, unless you have a really large music collection, you can probably store the whole thing in 32 GB.
