I’m a big Terminator fan (I even liked the much-maligned Terminator 3), so I watched the pilot on Sunday and official premiere on Monday of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
(No, this isn’t tech news, per se, but any nerd worth his salt is a Terminator fan at heart.)
Anyway, I liked the show more than I thought, even though the show basically invalidates everything that happened in the third movie. The Terminators were mostly appropriately grim, but the scene when the Terminator disguised as a substitute teacher proclaims “Class dismissed” made me nervous.
Fortunately, the humor was much less slapstick the rest of the way, and the action was satisfying. An Arnold cameo would be great, but I’m not holding my breath.
I hope the show doesn’t devolve into a slightly more violent version of Small Wonder, but I’ll be checking out the next episode.
Oh and, by the way, the pilot episode is currently available for free on iTunes, if you want to check it out.
