Yes, Google has promised this for some time now, but it could finally be here. One of the writers at Google Blogoscoped stumbled upon an experimental offline feature that uses Google Gears to let you work anytime.

There’s also some evidence that Google is about to take Calendar offline.

Neither story should come as a surprise. Google developed Gears to support offline use of its Web-based applications, but the only Google program that’s currently working offline is Reader.
