Another day, another cool idea from Google. The Internet giant has just launched what it calls a social graph API, which doesn’t sound all that interesting till you realize what it does.

Certain links between Web pages convey extra information, like a friendship between page owners. Google’s API makes it easy for programmers to use that information to help social applications find your friends.
