With HD-DVD exiting the stage this week, many of the format’s bitter supporters have tried to rain on Blu-ray’s victory parade, declaring the conquest a Pyrrhic victory in the face of the imminent triumph of downloadable video.
Not so fast.
While streaming and downloadable video has a lot to recommend it, the technology is still years, if not decades, away from perfection.
