The Wall Street Journal reports that researchers at The University of Utah have found that workers with 24-inch computer monitors accomplish common editing tasks about 52 percent faster than folks with 18-inch monitors.

Subjects also did slightly better with the 24-inch monitor than they did with either two 20-inch monitors or one 26-inch monitor.

A worker who spent 8 straight hours on tasks that benefit from a larger screen could save about 2.5 hours a day. Time savings would be substantially less under real-world conditions, said James Anderson, the professor in charge of the study, but they’d still be huge.
