Almost a year ago, I reviewed the Youth Driving Safe GPS system for monitoring where — and how fast — your teen is driving. I liked it so well that I ended up buying the system (about $300) and pay a $30 monthly fee to keep up with my kid, now almost 17. What I especially like about the system is that although it automatically tracks the car every five minutes that it’s on the move, you can also ping the system if you WANT TO KNOW RIGHT NOW where the teen is headed.

Recently, Youth Driving Safe has upgraded its map system to use Google satellite hybrid images. So when I recently needed something out of my daughter’s car, all I had to do was use the map to drill down to exactly the where the car was parked at her massive high school — third row from the north end, second slot on the north side. Imagine the tech possibilities for those of us who forget where we parked at the airport or mall!
