Adobe launched its own media player today to compete with iTunes, Amazon Unbox, Hulu, Joost, etc.
The Adobe Media Player is a Flash-only player at the moment that lets you subscribe to free Web casts or view a library of shows from a variety of providers.
There are a handful of TV networks with content on the player, with CBS currently the most prolific.
It looks like just about every episode of the original Star Trek is available, for example, as is apparently every episode of MacGyver.
The video quality is decent — I didn’t see any mention of HD — and again, it’s all free.
I have a hard time imagining Adobe gaining much traction in already crowded market, but it could be worth keeping an eye on this.
