The upgrade to Google Earth comes with more good news map-loving Dallas residents. Google has finally updated the satellite images of Dallas that appear in both Google Maps and Google Earth.
The just replaced pictures were incredibly old. If you looked closely you could see a dinosaur where the Mondrian apartment building currently stands in Uptown. The newer pictures appear to be just a couple months old.
This is good news for anyone who uses Google Maps to get a visual sense of an area before driving to it. The images match reality — for the moment.
Now I can start bugging the folks at Microsoft to update the photos of Dallas in Live Maps.
