So Microsoft is now trying to claim that the retina-scarring video that plopped onto the Web yesterday was a “joke.”
Uh huh.
Look, I’m sure the nerds at Microsoft thought making a Springsteen rip-off video to promote Vista would be funny.
But I don’t think they realized that it would be funny because it would be so corny and lame that it would make even Barney the dinosaur want to smash his head against a cinder block.
And if you still think Microsoft was being cleverly ironic with their Springsteen ad, well, allow me to inflict on you this equally painful Windows 386 ad from the 1980’s as proof that the Redmond giant is physically incapable of real wit.
