I’ve never been much of a photographer, but the combination of a new point-and-shoot camera and my blogging activity has me editing a lot more photos — and wanting to do more to them than I could with iPhoto.

I decided to try Adobe’s Photoshop Elements 6, and I’m glad I did. (For a link to the Mac version, click here.)

It’s not as completely intuitive as iPhoto, but it packs a lot of power in a reasonably cheap package, and its tutorials teach you a lot about editing and photography, too. Here’s the full review.
