If you use Firefox 3, it should download the update automatically and ask you to restart the program. If that doesn’t happen, or if you have Firefox 2, go to the “Help” menu and select “Check for updates.”
Actually, if you have Firefox 2 and you don’t need any of the few add-ons that don’t work on Firefox 3 yet, do yourself a favor and upgrade to Firefox. It’s faster. It renders pages better. And the new navigation bar saves you a lot of typing by suggesting sites from the first couple letters.
The folks at Mozilla claim the update will improve the browser’s stability without breaking any add-ons. Some users, however, have reported broken add-ons
