This isn’t the large 2.1 update that everyone is waiting for, but various outlets are reporting that a 2.0.2 update for the iPhone (and iPod Touch) has become available on iTunes.
I don’t know if this update does anything to improve 3G network connections, but, if our (admittedly unscientific) poll is any indication, it’s a problem Apple needs to address sooner rather than later.
