Netflix made headlines yesterday, when it announced a deal with the motion picture channel Starz that will instantly add 1,000 titles to the Netflix streaming video library.
Another 1,500 titles will follow by year’s end, bringing the total to more than 12,000 titles.
Buried in that announcement, however, was another bit of good news. Netflix will soon support video streaming to Macs as well as Computers.
Netflix began streaming content to PCs early last year. It offered just 1,000 titles at the time. The Roku Player, a set-top box that streams Netflix movies to TV sets, debuted about 18 months later.
A new Blu-ray player from LG, which should hit stores in a few days, will also bring Netflix movies from the World wide web to TVs, as will Xbox video game players after a software update this fall.
