The Boy Genius Report has the first spy pics of the sequel to Amazon’s popular e-book reader, the Kindle.
That’s the Kindle 2 on the right, next to the original unit. The new machine certainly looks much nicer and more Apple-esque, even though still too much excess plastic for my taste.

BGR doesn’t state when the new unit is expected to be released. Amazon has fervently denied rumors that the Kindle 2 is coming out before Christmas, insisting it will be next year at the earliest, but this looks like a production model to me.
