I just got a Nintendo Wii (Jap version) a week ago and that game console is an excellent play. I’ve been glued to Donkey Kong Taru Jet Race and Biohazard 4 ever since. Now I need to rest my eyes and my tired hands. Lest my Wii goes nuclear, I’ve also been looking around for some cooling alternatives and I found this excellent review on Team Xtender XCM II-Hot Rock Case for Nintendo Wii here.
The ii Case HOT ROCK CASE is a new innovation in case modding and cooling technology. With a built in Digital LED thermometer, the HOT ROCK CASE is able to alert the user by changing the LED color when the Wii console reaches certain temperatures. Color changes takes place in 5 degree increments. For example, if your Wii console’s temperature reaches over 55 degree Celsius, the LED will display ‘RED’ and start flashing. This will alert the user to turn off the console and check for potential problems and the reason for this heating. And besides that, it looks amazing with a modded custom look!
Hot Rock case (color changing chart)
Temperature (Celsius) / Chameleon LED color
- Below 29 c : Light blue
- 30-35 c : Blue
- 36-40 c : Green
- 41-41c : Yellow
- 46-50 c : Orange
- 50-54 c : Red
- Over 55 c : Red light flashing

Gizmodo reports that the company is launching a new product - an HD/DVR tuner for your computer. These types of gadgets already exist, and in fact I got a Pinnacle stick for Christmas last year. Unfortunately, I havenât found much use for the product-type⌠yet. This DVR thingy rolls out tomorrow in a press release.
To be introduced at an event this Wednesday, this little bauble reportedly brings a few new features to compete against similar USB-based HDTV tuner/PVR devices from Pinnacle and AMD, with such enticements as multiple tuner capability and enhanced search features. We’ll know more on Wednesday.

Here’s a cool review on how easy it is to use Ubuntu on a Fujitsu LifeBook E8410 laptop. Laptopmag wrote the article in light of DELL making Ubuntu available to the masses.
When Dell first announced that it would offer Ubuntu–a free open-source, Linux-based operating system–on select notebooks, millions of tech-heads unleashed victory cries. Linux, the longtime OS of choice for the hardcore techie, was poised to go mainstream. Finally, a larger worldwide audience would experience Linux and the “it just works” nature of Ubuntu, but we at LAPTOP had to ask: Is Ubuntu ready for the world?
